symphony of sights but I was wrong about the highlight. It was still to come. After an hour's drive from Tari through jungle and grassland, we arrived at Ambua Lodge. A glimpse was enough to satisfy me that Ambua Lodge is not only one of a kind, it is as the locals would say it - Number One Something Speak It! I can attest to that.

Nestled in the Southern Highlands of Papua New Guinea at the 2,100 metre level, Ambua Lodge lies at the transition point where grassland gives way to rainforest. It is a bird watcher's paradise. How many resorts, however elegant, can offer you what Ambua does? First of all you receive a bird list and if that doesn't suffice, an orchid list as well. Prior to my arrival at Ambua I had not had the privilege of receiving either but then again most resorts of the world are not so wonderfully endowed with either a plethora of bird species or a greater profusion of orchids than graced Donald Trump's wedding reception.

I've simply got to have an early night because tomorrow before first light, we'll be setting off in hope of seeing the wondrous Bird of Paradise. This fellow tick tock say, it's time to turn in.
