"Do we have to invite your Uncle Fred?"

"How about your cousin Mildred?" John retorted.

"I've got it!" Marsha said smugly.

"As if there was a simple way to fix this dilemma."

He Has Proposed

"There is," John's fiancee said smiling sweetly.

John wondered if he'd still love that maddening smile of hers a decade from now.

"Out with it then, Woman!"

"We'll put our frequent flyer miles, to good use. Uncle Fred's afraid to fly? Right?"

"He doesn't need to fly. He only lives a twenty minute drive away."

"Why don't we get married in Fiji?"

"That's not a bad idea. Your long-lost cousin in Australia would be able to attend."

"Agreed?"

"We'd better start gathering up brochures."

"Brochures are so passé," Marsha said. "A list of URLs is all we'll need. First stop is Melissa McCoy's Wedding Page."

"This isn't bad. Melissa's got umpteen reasons why we should have our wedding in Fiji."

"Such as?"

"We could have a resort all to ourselves." It would keep down the numbers. We wouldn't have to run the risk of Uncle Fred drowning in the punch bowl."

"There's a choice of beautiful locations, which makes for great photo opps."

"Let me sum up some of the points that Melissa makes. We could invite just enough people to our wedding to fill the resort and no more. Of course we'd invite a few extra because some are certain not to come."

"Even Uncle Fred?" Marsha asked.

"And we wouldn't want to deprive anyone of the privilege of giving us a gift," John said doing his best to ignore Marsha's Uncle Fred dig.

Fiji Wedding

"The next thing,we've got to do,is decide on a venue."

"It's got to have diving," John said.

"Start with Tokoriki," said Marsha, who was a keen diver herself. In this case though, she was determined that scuba would take second place to her wedding preparations.

"Tokoriki has a multi-denominational chapel that is used for wedding services. The resort provides a Fijian choir, warriors, and kava ceremony."

"That's not the usual sort of stuff that one finds stateside."

"The food looks pretty good too." Tokoriki

"How about this for a wedding chapel," John said. The Fijian Hotel has a wonderful site that we could consider."

"Let me read you this," Marsha said. "The bride and groom may if they wish wear traditional Fijian garb, cloth made from tapa, tree bark, and hand-painted with traditional Fijian symbols in tan, brown and black. All of the guests, along with the bride and groom, wear garlands of fresh, fragrant flowers around their necks.
