Everything wacky about the game of pool comes forth in the full version of Ultra Cool Pool. With game variations like Rocketball and 24 Cents, plus the standard issue 8-ball and 9-ball, UCP is one of the better 3-D pool suite offerings in the market today.
Developed by SierraSoft, this game features some of the best graphics ever developed yet for virtual pool games. The demo version, available at Download.com is a chunky 16 or so Mb download file and takes a couple of hours to get down; but it's negligible trouble for a fully functional 8-ball, two-player game that features multi-player facilities over the internet and stunning visual graphics. Aid includes an aiming tracker that can turn shots with a wanderlust into single-shot pots! One again the realism of the shiny balls on velvet-blue is striking. For the pure physics of the game however, nothing beats the ball action on the Virtual Pool series from Interplay. Other than that the balls behave fairly well, as is expected. Backed by good sound effects, UCP gives you everything from resounding breaks to the click-and-roll of a ball that's just inched itself into a wooden pocket. Though system requirements aren't too tough to comply with, a higher end PC configuration enhances the experience to no end. At least a Celeron 455 Mhz. with 32 Mb RAM is recommended. All in all, this one's worth the download and definitely worth the buy! Go To Page: 1
