Stephen Hendry's recent win, his fifth Premier League title came from capturing the alto.digital.com crown for a record fifth time in succession. Since the British Open last year, Hendry had failed to notch up a win to date. He pocketed a heady £50,000 for his effort.

However, does Hendry have the stay power to pull his way up the rankings from his current stand at position three? He admits that claiming numero uno spot will be a tough road, but firmly believes that he'll be able to notch up those major wins when the time comes.

It is a great boost of confidence for Hendrys game to have beaten current world number one, Mark Williams the way he did in this tournament. From the outset, the match looked even. Hendry had managed to take in a comfortable 4-2 lead when Willams jumped into his element to take the score tally to 5-5. Williams looked set to roll on ahead and beat Hendry for a fifth time in their past seven clashes.

However, it was Hendry's experience and cool that overtook the Welshman's aggressive approach. Hendry smashed through the following frames in an even 40 minutes to clinch the victory.

This win will prove to be a great morale booster for the now confident player. Hendry is the man to be watched out for this season and this fifth successive win proves it.
