The latest offering of Cueball from Archer MacLeanis a delight for the cue-sport enthusiast. It combines the pure thrill of smashing a rack of pool balls with the extreme concentration and "think-ahead" of a major snooker tourney.
Jimmy White's 2: Cueball is a finely crafted game and a marvel of 3D cuesport simulation. Achieving the highest standards of realism, the game brings England's best snooker houses to your door. The physics of the game are deadly-accurate and the balls roll as you'd expect them to. All the spins, turns, roll-backs and cuts are accurately simulated by the game's superior programming. The feather-on-the-hat for realism, Cueball 2 makes tables floating in free 3D space, a thing of the past. You'll play in a fully furnished room that details even the ketchup stains on the tablecloth. Pool There are three major sets of rules you can play pool by; US 8 and 9 ball as well as the UK version. Of course, you have to be familiar with all the quirks of each game as they have been accurately incorporated as well. It all boils down to spots and stripes or reds and yellows. Game play is fast, realistic and your CPU opponents are really good. Snooker Here, youcan pit yourself against 10 computer opponents which culminates in playing against Jimmy White if you're in Whirlwind mode. Cueball combines two methods of gameplay. Firstly, you can pull back the mouse and smash the balls around like in Virtual Pool. Otherwise, the other option is to use the menu icons, line up your shot, choose your power and strike. Using a combination of both and some practice, you can give the computer a run for its money and J. White might not seem so deadly. All in all, it's a very good game, one of the best around. All it requires is major processing power. A good graphics card, lots of video RAM, 3D support and other gimmicks will enhance your enjoyment of the game.
