Game Variations Part Two - Snooker Plus

Last week we talked about an interesting variation to the game of snooker that was around in the late fifties. It was called Volunteer Snooker.

Todfay, Cue Sports looks at another nice variation that was around as far back as the late thirties, but one which is dead today. Only very few people who have been around vaguely remember some of the rules.

The game is Snooker Plus.

Snooker Plus

It is the same as regular snooker except that two additional colour balls are added. The usual rules apply. After the final black is potted continue to pot the final orange and then the final purple.

Objective - To create a more free flowing and opportunistic game of snooker.

Orange ball - value - 8 points is spotted centrally between the brown and the blue balls. Purple ball - value - 9 points is spotted centrally between the blue and the pink balls.

Try ripping off the orange and purple balls from an adjoining pool table and adding them to your frame. It sure makes a hell of a better game, if you're up to level. Enjoy!
