Enjoy a Spa at Sea© Rita Cook
It's spring and that means it's time for vacation so why not make it really special this year by enjoying a cruise. Cruising is always a luxury, but imagine a cruise with a built-in spa. Now that's pampering. There are several cruise lines that offer onboard spas; Radisson Seven Seas Cruises, Seabourn Cruise Line, Cunard Line and Windstar Cruises.
The Radisson's Seven Sea Cruise ship, the Seven Seas Navigator, offers Judith Jackson's SeaSpa. If aromatherapy is what you're looking for then this is the cruise for you. Imagine the smell of flowers and fruits engulfing your very being as you sit back and let your therapist pamper you. There are only six treatment rooms so they book quickly, but there's always the aerobics studio and cardio-fitness center. The Navigator sails the water of Asia, Australia, the Caribbean and the South Pacific offering suites for her entire group of 490 passenger and another added bonus, no tipping. Seabourn Cruise Lines offers a spa created in 1999 called the Spa du Soleil on the Seabourn Sun. The ship holds a maximum of 758 passengers about half European and half American. The spa is multi-level and offers ten treatment rooms, a lap pool and services such as lonithermie, a cellulite reduction system and the Rasul mud chamber.Room service is a 24-hour service on the Seabourn Sun and the minibar is full of Evian throughout the day. As if from a bygone era the Queen Elizabeth 2, better known as the QE2, was launched in 1969 and refit in 1999. With a choice of crossings from Europe to America or visa versa or a cruise from New England to Canada this ship offers a spa experience, but even using the facility will cost you $10. The spa has 10 treatment rooms with massages and other specialties such as the Seaweed body masque or hydrotherapy bath, where you soak in freeze-dried algae. Different from many other cruise lines, the class system does still exist on the QE2 among the 1,740 passenger. There are 22 types of accommodations and five restaurant categories and your stateroom or category type determines the restaurant you will dine. The Windstar's WindSurf ship offers a unique spa along with the experience of yachting. The Wind Surf is a small ship with only 312 passengers. The spa experience, known as Windspa, pampers the visitor on the Marina Deck. Enjoy an aromatherapy soak in the hydrotherapy tub or get a seaweed wrap. Go To Page: 1 2
