Well first I would like to say Happy Holidays to everyone that spends the time to come
here and read my articles.
Let me pick up where I left off last month with Remicade. Okay, I took the prednisone and whatever I had a reaction to was better and never returned. It has been about 3 weeks since my last Remicade infusion and I have a fistula that has returned. I am very disappointed about this. I have no idea why it has returned or what to do about it. I suppose if/when I inform my doctor he will try another dose of Remicade. But I can't get a dose once a month... I am pretty sure of my facts and I think once every 8 weeks it the normal. When I went to the doctor months ago I asked him for a Colostomy. This was a sure fire way to rid myself of the fistulas. He suggested Remicade first. So now what. Do I go for the Colostomy???? I really don't know what to do. We are faced with so many heart wrenching decisions with this disease. I just spent months going to doctors and getting remicade to have it last not even 3 weeks....!!!! How depressing is that. So.... this is where I stand with my remicade and I do not know what decision I will make yet, but it is not going to be now. I am far to busy with my web work and the holidays. I have had fistulas for 3 years now another month won't hurt. On to the Holidays. This is an extremely stressful time of year for all people and especially for us. I take it for granted everyone survived Thanksgiving a totally food related holiday. I did pretty good, no major problems besides eating to much. LOL Now Christmas, or whatever it may be called where you live. This one presents a whole new aspect of problems. There is nothing worse than being on a limited income at this time of year. I have a couple of great tips for people who are "pinched" at this time of year. 1. Homemade gifts are great!!!! Do you have a hobby?? Something you can make and give to guest. 2. do you bake...? Baked gifts are also wonderful and can be costly but if your careful they don't have to be extremely expensive. I personally love baked gifts. My favorite is a box or tray of assorted cookies and such. 3. Give someone the gift of your time.... offer to do something really special for them. Go To Page: 1 2
