My Crohn's was diagnosed in Sept. of 98. I have had several major flare ups since then and I am unable to work as of right now. My doctor has me on 16 pentasa a day along with 40
mg of Prednisone a day. I take other meds also to help other problems associated with Crohn's. My bone marrow suppresses my red blood cells so I am anemic, and Crohn's has caused
my kidneys to be involved with infections and I have pneumonia a lot. I hate the prednisone so bad. It makes me not able to sleep it makes me look different and gain weight. I have
ulcers in my ileum and I also have a mega colon which stays enlarged all the time. I go from explosive diarrhea to constipation all the time. I can't wear my jeans right now due to
my stomach is so large. I have to watch everything I eat. I can't have fried foods or dairy products, or salads. My eating has been cut down 60% and it is hard. It seems that
everyone watches every move I make. All I do is take meds all day and wish that everything could be normal again. I worry about my job but my boss is wonderful and is letting me
work from home now. I worry that I am not being the mother I was to my kids, due to lack of energy. I have been having to get help with housework and just going places. I have
developed what I think is a fistula outside the perennial area but the doctor wants a biopsy. It bleeds and stays sore all the time. I am new at all of this and there is so much I
don't understand. I am 35 years old and will be married to my wonderful husband in Dec. for one year. We have planned to go to Puerto Rico for our honeymoon we never had a chance
to take. I am hoping I can make the trip. The prednisone is making me feel bad and I am hoping my doctor will start me on the new Remicade Drug. If there is anyone out there who
has taken it please email me. I pray for a cure everyday, and maybe one day we that have this terrible disease will see that day
