Studies are now coming out determining the results of maintaining remission with the use of Remicade (Infliximab). Infliximab was approved by the FDA in 1998 for the treatment of people with moderate to severe Crohn's disease, or Crohn's involving fistulas; the long-term safety and effectiveness of the drug has yet to be established.
You can read about the study here: http://www.ccfa.org/news/previous/news10... I talk to many people who have tried Remicade and my results remain the same. I was a little sleepy, so I took about a 2 hr nap and came out feeling hungry and well rested. Feeling hungry for me is something very new and different. That night I felt a little strange, but nothing I could put my finger on. I don't know if it was the relief that the insurance co had finally OK'd the treatment or the fact that FINALLY after more than 30yrs of pure Hell, I really had some hope. What ever it was, I was on cloud 9 and scared to death that the dream would end and I would wake up feeling rotten all over again. Well, the next day, I got up and was able to drink 2 cups of coffee, BEFORE I went to
