Mommy was funny at the movies. She raised the chain, bowed, called me "Prince Keaton." I loved Buster Keaton and Mommy.

The newsreel started. Then stopped. The mean houselights fired up.

"Scram," one policeman shouted, behind us. "It's Sunday, folks. Get yourselves to church."

I stood. But Mommy stared forward.

"Wait for Buster," she whispered.
