Fall Television Preview 2003"Cold Case" Following on the heels of "CSI," "CSI: Miami," and "Without a Trace" and responding to the public's continued interest in criminal investigation is "Cold Case." The intriguing spin to this program is that it focuses on a cold case squad - a group of criminal investigators assigned to older cases which have never been solved. Many major cities have these squads and they take criminal investigation to a new level because they are confronted with the challenge of trying to look at a case that has already been investigated in a new light and to find what no one else has found before. In some cases, new forensic technology is available to analyze the evidence so the public's interest in forensic science will be addressed in this show. Cold case squads also have more of a challenge of dealing with victims and relatives and friends of victims because the crime is not fresh and memory and willingness to cooperate very well may change. Based on the nature of the work, this could be a fascinating program. "Cold Case" specifically looks at the members of Philadelphia homicide assigned to the cold cases and stars Kathryn Morris ("Minority Report"). This program is also produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, who brought television audiences "CSI." It airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. Pacific time.
