Is the competition getting lesser?

Carltron & United Series is going on in Australia and Australia is yet to be defeated. We have not seen even a single good very competitive match at the beautiful stadiums of Australia. Australia has won all of its 7 matches and West Indies and Zimbabwe have not been able to cause any sort of serious problems for Australia. Even Aussies chased a quite difficult target of 270 plus quite easily.

Similarly, Pakistan and New Zealand series is coming up and many of the people are predicting the outcome of the series and it might prove to be as expected. Cricket is said to be a very unpredictable game and it is said that you can't predict in cricket until the last run is taken or the last ball is bowled.

Australia and South Africa are no doubt the best two cricketing teams of the world. They are the true champions. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are two teams which can produce any sort of upsets against these teams though Sri Lanka failed to produce any sort of good results in the South Africa Sri Lanka series.

Apart from these four teams the other sides like India, West Indies, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and England are good sides but still they are not producing good enough quality cricket. They do have many world class cricketers like Tendulkar, Lara, Cairns, Streak and many other but still they are not producing good enough results at the moment.

The things are getting boring the way Australians and South Africans are dominating the cricketing world. India is almost undefeatable at the home ground though Pakistan and South African have changed the story now. Even weaker countries are repeatedly defeating Pakistan at home.

All this goes along but I think we are yet to see some good quality and tough matches like World Cup 99 semi-final in the recent past. We saw some very good matches at Kenya in the Mini-World Cup and I personally feel that these sort of tournaments should be encouraged not only in order to expand the cricket to all parts of the world but also to watch some good and challenging cricket.

Also, there should be more matches and series of equally strong teams like South Africa and Australia and things should not go in a way that people get tired of Australia or South Africa winning all of their matches.
