The opponents, New Zeland after their recent defeat against Zimbabwe seemed to be quite worried. They did not perform up to their best. Although, I did not get a chance to watch the series myself but as I read in articles and heard from other people, their performance was really too disappointing. The series was a close one and there were some tight matches but they failed to live up to the reputation of being a better side than Zimbabwe.
Still there is a lot to be seen in this series. Main news being, the return of Shoaib Akhtar. I’ve read in news papers that Shoaib is making a come back and Shoaib’s performance on good pace wickets of New Zeland will really be a thing to be seen. He will also be eager to improve his record of fastest ball.
The series must be a good one as Pakistan does not have many good batsman to play on bouncy wickets. Inzi and Saeed will be the main players. In bowling department Pakistan do have a upper hand. Shoaib, Wasim, Saqlain perhaps will prove too good for the Kivi batting line-up.
In cricket, the analysts just make on keeping guesses but in cricket you are not sure until the last ball is bowled or the last run is taken. In world cup 99 final, every one was betting that Pakistan will win the match but all that happened was against what the expectations were. I am hoping for a nice and challenging series in which good cricket will be played and spectators will watch some good cricket matches.
