Will Wasim get to Walsh’s record?

I am really enjoying my cricket and looking forward to play for a year or two now. This is the most common statement delivered by Pakistan's ace bowler, Wasim Akram. The champion fast-bowler known as "Prince of Pakistan" in Imran's time is the most successful bowler in world's ODI's history.

Wasim has taken 407 wickets at an average of 22.98 in test cricket. His best bowling 7/119 is against New Zeland and his strike rate is 53.1. He has taken 25 times 5 wickets in an innings and 5 times 10 wickets in a match. Truly a record of an all-time great bowler.

His ODI record is also as great as his test record is. He has taken 427 at an average of 23.61 with 5/15 being his best. His strike rate is 36.1 and he is a very mean bowler as he gives only 3.84 RPO. 16 time 4 wickets in an innings and 5 times 5 wickets in an innings.

He also has great batting capabilities but everyone says that he has not done justice to Wasim as a batsman. He has recently scored a 100 against Sri Lanka in the second test of the test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. His most memorable innings was the 257 marathon innings against Zimbabwe when he saved a test match for Pakistan along with Saqlain.

Wasim is the special student of Imran who picked him up from a street playing cricketer and turned him to a world class all-rounder. A genuine fast bowler, every batsman in the world has great regards for his great great fast bowling. Master of reverse swing, he is at his best when he is swinging the ball both ways and perhaps the most lethal bowler of the world at that time.

Wasim had to resign from captaincy after a big failure in Australia but now he seems to be performing at his best under Moin's leadership. Wasim is following his teacher Imran and now at the end of career he is concentrating on his batting so much that now he can easily come into the team as a regular batsman. As mentioned earlier he has not done justice to Wasim as a batsman.

Wasim's recent performances have been very great. He won the man of the series in Pakistan and Sri Lanka series and man of the match in both the test matches of the series, third being incomplete due to rain. Wasim's performance in West Indies was very great and he almost Pakistani team to first series victory against West Indies in West Indies.
