Whales

From our perspective, the feeding frenzy looks like a large area of turbulent water and every so often you see a humpback's head and its large jaws collapsing. It takes on a lot of water in those huge jaws, but after straining out the water through the baleen plates, all that's left is a large amount of tasty plankton.

Needless to say I am totally enamored with these sea creatures and one whale trip is never enough. So, of course we went out again a couple of days later. And the experience was different and amazing.

The Dolphin Fleet crew takes good care of you. The boats take smaller numbers of people than other boats, so you will be able to see the whales. An onboard galley serves breakfast and lunch. But the key to this whale-watch adventure is the onboard naturalist. It may be enough for most just to spot a whale, but nothing is better than walking away with at least one new piece of information about the whales and their environment.
