Calendars, pencils and other school related activities

If you're not using reward calendars, have the kids make stickers showing special dates or events and put those on your calendar. Simply making the stickers and using them on papers, folders, book covers or even to seal envelopes is fun. After school crafts are always fun and creating something your children can use at school makes it that much more fun. The only problem with after school crafts is time. Something simple, fun and quick is key. These pencil and pen ideas worked great for us and the kids had a ball bringing them to school and sharing them with friends and teachers. Chris even made a special homework pencil with a big smiling face to get him through those spelling words. http://www.kidsdomain.com/craft/_school.... http://www.thefamilycorner.com/cgi-bin/d... http://www.thefamilycorner.com/cgi-bin/d... Back pack tags have also been popular. In addition to decorating back packs, they also make great key chains. If you have trouble finding shrink plastic at your local craft supplier, try using number 6 recyclable plastic (the plastic they use for food containers like the ones you get from your take-out Chinese restaurant). http://www.kidsdomain.com/craft/shrink.h... As always, please enjoy these activities and let me know how you're doing. I welcome any ideas you have as well as the opportunity to research and write about any crafting with children topics or questions you may have.
