item, will still recoup your costs and make a small profit. Price the item, then sit with paper and pencil - reduce the price by 20%, or by 33%, subtract the cost of the item. Does the sale price cover the cost of the item and leave you a small profit?

When pricing this way, the slow sellers can be reduced throughout the year because you have figured a markdown into the price. Profit made will not be as high, but you won't be stuck with items that won't sell.

Let's keep our craft industry stigma-free. Don't hike up prices, then reduce them to what would be a normal selling price to fool the public. You can fool some people, but others will learn to be suspicious of your "sale items" and steer clear of your booth.

There are Hidden Competitors at Craft Events. It's really another facet of "Pricing" that all need to be aware of when doing craft shows.
