shows, I had only one uncollected bad check. Fortunately, it was for a
small amount. This does not mean that you will never have bad checks. Only
you can determine how honest you think people are.
You should take precautions when taking a check. Much can depend on a person's demeanor, the eye contact they have with you and your gut feeling. If taking checks, you will probably feel better taking a driver's license number and telephone number. You are not legally allowed to take down a credit card number as identification. Even if you do take down such a number, there isn't a way to use that number if the check bounces. Come back next time for The Paper Side of Craft Shows.
