When determining a schedule for the day, do leave some segments of time unscheduled. This will help compensate for the things that can "just happen" and then if there is time left in your day, use your left over time to catch up on some extras.

Make use of bits of time! Look at what you can accomplish! Make decisions of "what to do when" during short periods of unscheduled time. How to Make Decisions

What you can do in five minutes:

  •  Make an appointment
  •  Make out a supply shopping list
  •  Write a note
  •  Clean paint brushes


What you can do in ten minutes:

  •  Order supplies
  •  Return one or more phone calls
  •  Clean up your work area
  •  Take a walk


What you can do in thirty minutes:

  •  Organize plans for an upcoming media open-house
  •  Go through backed-up journals, magazines and newspapers
  •  Read several chapters in the new How-to-Do book
