RECHARGING YOUR BATTERIES-1

How's your Spring Fever? To many folks, Spring fever means the adrenalin flows faster and the desire to clean runs rampant. Spring fever can dictate that cleaning and organizing should take priority, but those in colder states can empathize with my desire to just sit and read and laze about. You can find a poem to read at the Poet's Lounge site titled "Spring Fever." Needleworkers look at the Designs From Margaret Lee site to find a pattern called "Spring Fever." I am taking a break from my crafts for a little bit. Attendance at HIA (the Hobby Industries Association) trade show and conference in Dallas, TX several weeks ago gave me enough to think about with crafts, let alone starting new projects. It's a mind-boggling scene: thousands of vendor booths, housing both manufacturers and retailers, showing thousands of supplies and products, with thousands of people attending. All concentrating on the craft industry. What a high! Then your feet start rebelling from the miles of aisles, your stomach rumbles at the thought of yet another sandwich and even though you have planned your routes on the map that is provided, everything starts to run together. Now, it's time for me to recharge. This is the time of year to look at the calendar and mark what I expect to do each month for the next year. The calendar has an interesting history - get the information at Calendars. A calendar by month, not by day, so, I am looking at only twelve blocks of time. It gives me an idea of what I want to accomplish and where I want to go during the year. It is also a tentative guide for purchasing supplies and knowing which periods will be strictly work days. And I write in pencil. The calendar is the law by which most of us operate. It divides our years into months, those into days and even hours that we spend or waste. It makes life easier and helps make things happen. Read the article I Can Make It Happen from The 30 Best Inspiring Anecdotes of All Times. If a plan or an appointment must be changed, I use an eraser and make the change. Crossing out ink on the calendar, then trying to fit a new scribble into the small square makes a mess. You look at the mess then feel disorganized and frustrated.
