Dips!

It?s the holiday season again, and that means parties. All of these appetizer and snack recipes are easy to do (even at the last minute) and reasonably inexpensive. Make sure to have plenty of supplies for your favorite dips and snacks for when a houseful of friends or family show up. Many of these recipes are also perfect for potlucks and office parties. Enjoy!


*Shepherd Bread Cheese Dip*
Very tasty and easy to make


2 tubes sharp Cheddar cheese
1 tube Jalapeno pepper cheese
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
1/2 c. beer

Mix all ingredients together in a saucepan. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Boil 1 - 2 minutes. Pour hot cheese mixture into a hollowed shepherd bread.


*Taco Dip*
Great for football parties!


3 med. ripe avocados
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
2 cans bean dip
1 lg. bunch green onions with tops (1 c.)
Tomatoes
Olives
1 pkg. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded

Peel, pit and mash avocados in medium size bowl with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Combine sour cream, mayonnaise and taco seasoning in small bowl. Spread bean dip on bottom. Top with avocado mixture. Layer with sour cream-taco mix. Sprinkle with chopped onions, tomatoes and olives in layers. Cover with cheese. Serve chilled or at room temperature with round tortilla chips.


*Taco Dip II*
Another great dip


1 lb. ground beef
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 lb. bulk sausage
Dash Worcestershire sauce
2 lb. mild Mexican Velveeta
1 (4 oz.) can green chilies
1 tsp. salt (optional)

Brown beef with onion. Drain off fat and set aside. Brown sausage and drain. Combine beef and sausage with cheese, Worcestershire sauce and chilies., Heat in double boiler or microwave until cheese is melted. Stir well. Or can heat in crockpot on LOW until cheese is melted. Serve warm with corn chips.


*Crab Dip*
A traditional and popular dip


12 oz. cream cheese
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. mayonnaise
1 tbsp. lemon juice
6 oz. Old El Paso sauce
Crabmeat

Cream together cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, mayonnaise and lemon juice and place in round pan for 1st layer. For second layer add Old El Paso sauce until covered. Third layer - crabmeat. Refrigerate overnight.


*Peach Spice Dip*
Unusual and sweet. Quite good.


1 tbsp. orange juice
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped peaches
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. Cool Whip, thawed

Combine all ingredients and serve with chips or vegetables.


*Fruit Dip*
Soooo simple, but really popular


1 lg. jar marshmallow creme
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese

Soften cream cheese and add marshmallow creme. Great dip for strawberries, apples, watermelon and other fruits.
