3 lb chicken, cut up
1 pkg. dry spaghetti sauce mix
1/2 c. wine
1/4 c. sliced mushrooms
2 cloves crushed garlic cloves
Lay the chicken parts on the bottom of the slow cooker. Mix the sauce with the wine and garlic and pour over the chicken. Cook on low for 7 hours. Turn on high and add the mushrooms. Cook for 30 minutes longer.
*Sticky Chicken*
Funny name but a tasty (if sticky) sauce
3 lb chicken, cut up
salt and pepper
4 stalks green onion, chopped
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. white wine
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. honey
Salt and pepper the chicken and lay on the bottom of the slow cooker. Mix the onion, soy sauce, white wine, and water and pour over the chicken. Cook on low for 3-4 hours. Remove the chicken and brush with honey. Broil the chicken until brown.
*Saucy Chicken*
Unusual, but very good over rice or noodles
3 lb chicken, cut up
2 T. butter
2 T. dry Italian dressing mix
1 can (10 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
6 oz cream cheese, cubed
1/2 c. sherry
Brush the melted butter over the chicken and lay on the bottom of the slow cooker. Sprinkle the dressing mix over the top and cook on low for 5-6 hours. Mix the rest of the ingredients in a saucepan and heat through until the cheese melts. Pour over the chicken and cook for 30 minutes on low.
*Easy Chicken and Dressing*
Perfect for busy days
6 oz pkg bread dressing
1 1/4 c. water
1/4 c. sherry
8 carrots, roughly chopped
4 ribs celery, roughly chopped
1 roasting chicken
Mix together the dressing with the water and sherry. Cook the carrots and celery for 5 minutes in a pot with a little water. Layer the carrots and celery on the bottom of the slow cooker. Stuff the chicken with the dressing and place on top of the vegetables. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
*Zucchini and Chicken*
Another good use for those zucchini just now coming into season
3 lb chicken, cut up
1 t. seasoned salt
1/4 c. flour
1/4 t. pepper
2 T. grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
1 t. paprika
1 lb zucchini, sliced
1/2 c. chicken broth
1 (4 oz) can mushrooms, drained
