Summer Flower Champs

Hosta. Take your pick: large, small, medium, mini. Green, very green, pale green, chartreuse, gold, blue, variegated white, variegated gold, multi. Puckered or plain. That's just the tip of the iceberg - this is perhaps the ultimate collector's dream plant and to beat all it even grows in the shade.

Shade is where I'd rather be in the heat of the summer, sitting on the porch sipping iced tea and watching the butterflies, tracing their lilting path across the sunny patches and gliding into the shady pockets, drifting and darting and resting their way from plant to plant.

How do they know where to go next?
