Coronation Street Report CardsKen Barlow, Dierdre Rachid - They'd probably rate much lower if they were still melodramatic characters, but their roles have changed lately and they're both very good at being the likable, solid sort of folks who we can relate to and identify with. Spider Nugent - Could have been great, but they made a huge mistake when they took him away from his eco-warrior roots. Sarah Lou Platt - She's very new and very young, but has done an absolutely brilliant job with a very difficult story. Will be interesting to see where she goes from here. C+ Les Battersby - A character that had a lot of potential, if it had been put in the hands of another actor. Still, he's not terrible, in fact he's very good every once in a while. Maxine Peacock - Pleasant enough, but as a character, not much of anything. C Rita Sullivan - She used to be great some while back, but seems to have lost it lately. In my opinion, there've been too many personality switches to sustain the character. Danny - It's a cliche, but it's true enough, Danny is just plain boring. But, maybe that's the plan, not everyone is fascinating. We'll see what they do with him. C- Steve - Now Steve is interesting. He's been on the show for years, and he's been terrible for most of that time. By letting him stay out of the limelight for a while, they've managed to resuscitate him. Might be one on the rise. Dev, Vikram, Nita - These three are really only supporting characters for Ravi Desai, who was truly splendid, but he's gone now and they're still here. Dev might become a charismatic sex symbol, but I'm less sure of that now than I was at first. Nita was
