The Question?

Hi, I read your article on the Nutritional listings for vitamins/supplements ...fibro and found it to be quite helpful.

I am in the very beginning stages of trying to get my docs to understand this disease. Could you please email me the list of drugs being used for Fibromyalgia? I want to take this list to my doctors. Thanks so much for your help, ***********************************************

The Answer;

DO NOT USE ALL THESE MEDICATIONS AT ONCE! THIS IS JUST A GENERAL LIST FOR REFERENCE. PLEASE CONSULT WITH YOUR DOCTOR AND PHARMACIST BEFORE USING ANYTHING OTHER THAN DOCTOR RECOMMENDED MEDICATIONS. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR MEDICATIONS WITHOUT YOUR DOCTORS RECOMMENDATION. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR DIET OR EXERCISE LEVELS WITHOUT PREVIOUSLY SPEAKING TO YOUR DOCTOR AND PLEASE REALISE I AM NOT A DOCTOR NOR AT ANY POINT OR TIME DO I INTEND FOR YOU TO TAKE MY PERSONAL OPINION OVER THAT OF A MEDICAL PROFESSION!

Narcotics in general can be used, however they can be addictive and tend to be effective only for a short period of time. However Ultram, Vioxx and a thing called a TENS unit can be helpful.

To help you sleep: Melatonin, Trazedone, Benadryl, Ambien (when prescribed appropriately and used as directed) are the best available some are having success with Tylenol PM

Standard medications being used for Fibromyalgia are, Paxil, Trazedone, Effexor, Ultram, Ambien, Alprazolam, Oxecodone, Altace, Mobic, Serozone, Pameril, Amitryptiline, Prednisone, Neurontin, Celexa, Celebrex, Ativan, Elavil, and on occasion, Prozac and Zoloft.

Personally, I have seen the most success with Effexor and Neurontin

If you suffer from migraines; Maxalt, Migranol, Excedrin Migraine can be very effective.

Several muscles relaxers have also been used for Sleep assistance and for migraine relief; Flexeril, Soma and others that are similar are working for others.

I will be posting this in the ThemeStream column incase you should misplace it.

Thanks for the question.

Barb.

I want to point out that you will probably not have the effect you and your doctor are looking for if you don't follow directions! Make sure you read any information you are given with a new prescrip ...
