NOT THOSE "SAME OLD" BURGERS

When the time comes to do something with that Ground Beef that you have in the "fridge, most of us simply decide to have Hamburger Sandwiches or maybe make a Meatloaf. Those dishes are "good eating", but after being served those same old dishes time after time, your family would probably enjoy something different.

So, the next time you pull the Ground Beef out of the 'fridge, you might want to give these recipes a try. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

CHILI-BURGER BUNS

1 Tablespoon Cooking Oil

1 Large Onion (Chopped)

1 Pound Ground Beef

1 Can "Ranch Style" Beans

1 Tablespoon Chili Seasoning

Salt and Pepper (To Taste)

4-6 Hamburger Buns

Tomato Wedges and Lettuce (For Garnish)

In a frying pan, heat the Cooking Oil, add the Chopped Onion and cook for about 3 minutes--or until the Onion is transparent. Add the Ground Beef and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the "Ranch Style" Beans and the seasonings. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 more minutes. While the Beef mixture is simmering, Toast the Hamburger Buns on both sides. Serve the Beef over the Hamburger Buns "open face" style and garnish with the Tomato wedges and the Lettuce. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

ONION BURGERS

1 Pound Ground Beef

1/2 Cup Bread crumbs (Optional)

1 Medium Onion (Grated)

1 Egg (Beaten)

Salt and Pepper (To Taste)

3 Tablespoons Cooking Oil

1 Large Onion (Sliced)

1 Small Can Mushroom Bits and Pieces

1 Tablespoon Flour

1 1/4 Cups Beef Stock

1 Tablespoon Tomato Paste

6 Ounces Shell Macaroni (Cooked and Kept Hot)

In a large bowl, mix together the Ground Beef, one-half of the Bread crumbs, the Grated Onion, the Beaten Egg and all the seasonings. Mix completely and form into 8 patties. Coat the outside of each Pattie with the remaining Bread crumbs and fry in the Cooking Oil for about 10- 12 minutes. Place the Burger patties in a baking dish. In the remaining oil in the frying pan, cook the Onion Slices and the Mushrooms for about 3 minutes. Sprinkle the Flour over the Onion Slices and Mushrooms, add the Beef Stock and Tomato Paste. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Pour the mixture over the Burger Patties and bake in a moderate (350F) oven for 25-30 minutes. Serve on a bed of the cooked Macaroni. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

BURGERS WITH A BITE

2 Pounds Ground Beef

1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs (Optional)

2 teaspoons Chili Seasoning

2 Medium Onions (Chopped)

1 teaspoon Black Pepper

2 teaspoons Tomato Paste

1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder

In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix completely. Form the mixture into 6-8 patties. Broil or grill for 3-4 minutes on each side. Serve with French Fried Potatoes and "Ranch Style"Beans. Garnish with Tomato slices and Lettuce Wedges.
