HAVE A "BANG-UP" HOLIDAY

© Vaudie E. Harrison

Well folks, we're back to the middle of the Summer Months again and with it comes that great Holiday--the 4th of July.

This is a time for Family get-togethers and picnics--a time to share good times, great memories, and, of course, GOOD FOOD.

Now, I realize that not all of you will be celebrating this Holiday--only those of us who live in the United States. You see, this is our celebration of our Independence Day. Other countries have similar celebrations at different times of the year, but this is ours.

However, there is nothing that would prevent you from having your own celebration this next week--and you have my permission to call it whatever you might like.

No matter, take some time to enjoy your family and friends and share some good times with them.

This week, I'll point you to several places on the Internet that will give you information about this Holiday, as well as tips and recipes that will help make the day more enjoyable.

Let's start by taking a trip over to the 1st SPOT web site for some History of the Independence Day Holiday. While you're there be sure to take a look at the Recipes and Craft ideas for the Holiday.

Next, for a number of Links to Recipes (Including Bar-B-Q ideas) take a look at the information at WESTNET, I think you'll like what you find.

Now for a load of Recipes and Tips for enjoying the 4th of July, simply click on over to the MOMS--DADS web site for 4th of July Tips and Recipes.

The last site that I will share with you today is one that really doesn't have any Recipes. This site describes the History of Dining and Meals that have been enjoyed in the United States during the time period after the Declaration of Independence and prior to the Civil War. I found most of the information at this web site to be very interesting and I hope that you will also.

To find this Historical Information, just click your way to the AMERICAN.EDU web pages and you'll find an enjoyable and interesting read.

I hope all of you have an enjoyable and safe Holiday and I'll see all of you back here next week for some more Recipes.

Good Cooking,

Grandpaw
