LET'S END WITH THE SWEETS

Last week I told you that I would give you some dessert recipes for the finish of your Christmas Feast and I sure did find something for almost everyone.

First I will give you an idea of the "goodies" that will finish our meal here at our home this Christmas season. My Wife--"Grandma"--is in the kitchen, as I write these words preparing some of the things that we will serve to our guests for our Christmas Dinner.

She has already baked a large batch of Sugar Cookies--that she and our son will decorate later tonite--along with dozens and dozens of Peanut Butter Cookies. Yeah, I know that Peanut Butter Cookies aren't usually considered Christmas fare, but around our household they're sorta a tradition.

Later, and tomorrow, she'll be preparing a couple of Pumpkin Pies, an Apple Pie, and one of her "Super Delicious" Pecan Pies. The latter is made from an old recipe that she received from her Grandmother. It's great, but so rich that you can only eat one piece at a sitting.

Um, Um, so good.

One other thing that has become a tradition around the 'ole homestead is a batch of Mincemeat Turnovers. Mincemeat Pies have long been a traditional end to the Christmas meal. However, for some reason, our family has never cared for Mincemeat in the Pie form. But, on the other hand, Mincemeat Turnovers are consumed almost as fast as they come out of the oven.

Now, I can't pretend to know your family's likes and dislikes when it comes to desserts--and I won't pretend to do so. However, I will point you to a couple of sites on the Internet that will allow you to choose the recipe that will be "just right" for you and yours.

We'll start with the DESSERT RECIPE web site where you'll find 1579 different Dessert Recipes to choose from.

The second, and last, web site that I will suggest that you should visit is the PIE RECIPE WEB SITE There you will find over 2000 different pie recipes.

Between these two websites, I'm sure that you will find something to please anyone in your family and, perhaps, start a new tradition for you and yours.

Finally, everyone here would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. Relax, as much as possible, take time to give all your family a great big hug and have the greatest of days.

Next week, we'll talk about a few things to serve for the New Years celebration.
