LET'S ALL GET READY FOR SANTA

Well now that Thanksgiving in behind us, it's time to look ahead to the coming Christmas Season. It's right around the corner and coming fast so now is the time to start planning for that special day. Don't forget that this will be the last Christmas of the 20th Century and we all want to make it an unforgettable one that will be long remembered by all in the family. The preparations begin with decorating the traditional Christmas Tree--along with the rest of the house and continue with the planning that special meal. Of course there's also the selection of that "just right" present for all the loved ones in the family followed by the wrapping of each of those presents and the ever present problem of--"Where in the world am I going to stash all this stuff so no one will find it". Some of you will already have all the presents purchased, wrapped and hidden away. I'm always a little envious of all the organized people out there. You know who I'm talking about. Those of you who started the Christmas shopping way back in August or September are to be congratulated. Somehow I can never get around to doing it that way--so I always end up running around at the last moment, hoping all the while that the stores won't be out of the things that I'm planning to buy. To all of you who have done it well in advance, MY HAT'S OFF TO YOU! Around our household, the first thing that we do is to put the tree in its special corner and deck it with all those glittering treasures that have been saved from years past--along with a few new ones each year. When that pleasant chore is finished, it's time to start planning for all the goodies that will be created in the kitchen. As soon as school is recessed for the Holidays, the clamor begins for Christmas Cookies, Christmas Candy and any other goodies that come into the children's minds. This week I'm going to point you to some places on the Internet that will start the creative juices flowing and allow you to get a little ahead of the crowd with the planning for this wonderful Holiday.
