Organize Your Freezer – Part IIChris nodded, "I've got the manual in the house. I think you can order replacement baskets. That's a good idea." She started to pick up her paper and pencil from where it was laying on top of the car, then stopped. "I just had an idea! I could put some of my stuff down in one of those buckets that they sell at the dollar store. If the bucket was in the bottom of the freezer, it would be easy to reach down and pick it up!" "There you go, Chris! You might even be able to use more than one. It would take a little extra space, but like you said, you're not using it anyway. Might as well make things easy on yourself." Sherrie made the trip to the dollar store to get two buckets. When she returned, they found that each bucket would hold 5-6 casseroles, enough for one week each! These were filled and placed at the bottom. They would hold meals for the last two weeks in a month. By the end of the month, there wouldn't be as much food on top of them, and they would be more accessible. She used the removable basket on top to hold some items that she had frozen individually, then put into freezer bags. As the rest of the food was replaced, Chris took paper and a pencil and made a chart to keep on the freezer lid. She also called the phone number printed on her freezer owner's manual and ordered an extra basket for the top of the freezer. She planned to use it to store breakfasts or snacks for the kids. Chris thanked Sherrie over and over at lunch. Sherrie shrugged. "No problem. Maybe we could plan on doing a monthly session together next time," she offered. "We make great team!"
