Gramma's Soft Molasses CookiesI was going through a box of things at my mother's house and I came across the most wonderful discovery...several sheets of recipes in my great-grandmother's handwriting! I was so excited to share the cookie recipes with you, I just about fell over myself getting them home! This recipe is for soft molasses cookies, which was always a favorite of mine. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did when I was a little girl! Soft Molasses Cookies 3/4 cup shortening (butter, margarine); 1 cup sour milk; 1/2 tsp. salt; 3/4 cup molasses; 1/2 cup brown sugar; 2 tsp. baking soda; 1/2 tsp. ginger; 1/2 tsp. cloves Add enough flour, about 2 1/2 cups, to make soft dough, roll out until quite thick. Cut into what ever shape you choose, or use a glass to make circles. Bake at 375 minutes for 8-10 minutes, until set, frost with white icing.
