Snicker-what?I always thought snickerdoodles was just about the craziest name I ever heard for a cookie, but they sure are yummy! You can use shortening or margarine in place of the butter, but of course butter will make the best cookie. Snickerdoodles 1 cup shortening; 1 1/2 cups sugar; 2 eggs, beaten; 2 3/4 cup flour; 2 tsp. cream of tartar; 1 tsp. soda; 1/2 tsp. salt; 1 tsp. vanilla; 1/2 cup coconut Preheat oven to 375. Mix all ingredients together and roll into balls about the size of a walnut. Dip in sugar and flatten. Bake until lightly browned but soft, about 8 to 10 minutes.
