Toolkit For Clutter

You were hoping I had all the answers right? That there would be a magical list and presto! Everything would be fixed? I really wish it was that simple, but I do believe it's possible for anyone to build a personalized kit, especially suited for the needs of the individual. You know better than I do what will work for you. Will the tools I use work for your situation? I'm not sure that an exact copy will be the most effective because the reasons for my clutter are different and individual to my circumstances. But...big breath in...I have ideas which you can use as a model for your own tools. Big exhale. It's not a big secret.

First of all, begin with the right frame of mind. You can't drop everything and reach into a bag of tricks. Look at your calendar and find a suitable time to embark on your project. When the time comes, if necessary get a cup of coffee or tea, sit and meditate, check your email, play with your dog, do whatever you need to clear your mind, then you can begin.

Tools I use in my clutter kit:

- The ability to visualize space without clutter.

- Intention to adjust what isn't working.

- Diagnostic maintenance of the space.

If you can work with these tools too, pack them into your kit. If indeed our thoughts begin the process of change then that time you take to relax and plan will build a wonderful foundation for your project. If you're worrying about what to make for dinner while trying to visualize a clutter free area you've got too much baggage. Take the time to unload it.

All good tool kits have multi-levels. Some projects will need you to dig deeper and use these tools:

- A sense of how to free the flow of energy which is boxed up and stifled with clutter.

- Intuition and an openness for change.

- Reflection into the blueprints designed to guide you.

If these tools are kept within reach, clutter can be controlled on a regular basis. Imagine it, a simple life without the daily stress we feel rooted in our clutter that is growing out of control. Just think of how much of your time is lost to clutter as well as money. It costs us more fix the problem of accumulated clutter than preventing it from collecting in the first place.
