Clutter Block

Clutter flows into our lives according to the space we provide it. I thought I could write a whole article around that one thought but it seems ideas for that thought aren't flowing like the clutter is on my desk today. I seem to have provided the clutter too much room to flow!

Writing this article is on a long list of to do's today. It's just something I have to do now because I don't have time later. I know that's why my desk is creatively oozing with papers. Taking the time to deal with the clutter today is not on my list of priorities and yet it should be because it now seems to be blocking my ability to sit down and string ideas together.

Is this a case of Clutter Block? Something like Writer's Block except it's hold reaches out farther into other areas of my life? Alarm systems are flashing in my head. This is more serious than I thought. Everywhere I turn the clutter has formed around me. What can I do?

First thing to do is to focus and put on my ‘clutter blinders'. Excuse me while I put those on.....ok, that's better! Now where is my list of things I need to do? I was sure I had made one. Oops, it's in my head. Time to get that down on paper. Now I can plan. My priorities are clearly listed and I feel energized but still no ideas for an article. I don't think my ‘clutter blinders' are working. I can still sense the chaos around me.

Maybe my list of priorities isn't well organized? Perhaps my plan is missing some key details? This is a bad case of Clutter Block. I can't think straight at all. I guess I could put a few things away while I try to figure out what's wrong. At least I would sense some accomplishment. And wouldn't I be making room for ideas by clearing away the clutter?

Ideas flow into our lives according to the space we provide for them. I sure like that statement better and I feel like as though by clearing away some of my clutter I've made room for creative thought. I can imagine the possibilities running endlessly once all the clutter is cleared away. I don't have the time or space for clutter so my priorities are going to have to change. Wait a minute...I think they already did!
