The Plight Of Might"I might need that one day." "I might not be able to replace that." Do you find yourself listing the reasons you can't do without that item cluttering up your home or your office, and your life?" Your MIGHT has got you knee deep in trouble. I know from experience how strong MIGHT is. I have a room full of boxes that store all those things I don't want to waste or feel I can't afford to replace. I can hear that little voice now, "But this MIGHT be the year I do something with all that stuff!" Yes, it's certainly the time to do something! What better time than now? The first thing I'm going to do is replace my might with the strength of decisiveness. I am going to do something with those boxes. I have decided to face the fact that I will not be making a quilt out of all those scraps of fabric in my basement. I will not need those balls of wool to knit sweaters for everyone in my family. I can do without most of the sewing patterns, and the bits of lace. I do not need outdated encyclopedias. I will remove those boxes from my home. For every might I have, the plan is to analyze the fear that surrounds the situation. Take my box of buttons, for example. Of course, I may need those old buttons I've collected some day, but chances are I can easily purchase new buttons that will be just as nice, or even better. That would eliminate the space being wasted by the box, filled with mismatched sets that came off old shirts and sweaters years ago. By making a decision to get rid of the buttons, my fear of not having enough will be replaced with the confidence that I will be provided, somehow, with everything I need. It doesn't matter if it's buttons or books, I know I will survive without them in my basement. It's an empowering moment when you gain control over might. It doesn't take the strength of a professional. It doesn't take planning. It can happen right now, right this minute. Surprise yourself and see what results you get by making the choice to keep that clutter, or remove it. If you don't, just wait and see what happens. It MIGHT be more than you can handle.
