With the UK release of their album Mezzamorphis behind them and their US release coming up in a couple of months the future looks bright for Delirious? With great UK and US chart records life has been going good. But there is something different about the boys. They have grown up with their music.
While their new album is great, Stu G doesn't think that it is the best that we can expect from Delirious?: "We're in the process of change, we're thrilled with it but we have yet to make our best music. We're evolving." It's not just their music that is growing either. Their lyrics are full of passion for God. This album is certainly a change from Cutting Edge and King of Fools. With a harder edge and grittier guitar I think that if we were expecting King of Fools - Part 2 we were disappointed sadly. I don't think that the disappointment will last long, though. The new album, which is due out in the US June 8, has catchy tunes and is sure to be popular in North America. One of the best songs lyrically in my mind is Follow. On the US pre-release CD Martin Smith says that, "Follow is a great song that is really just saying to God, you know, I'm going to follow even though I find it difficult." That is very uplifting, expecially in a day that people are not always willing to follow God all the way. Mezzamorphis has been loved and hated by reviewers. Stephen Eastwood says that "Anyone who thinks crooning about getting to 'heaven' cuts it as passion is sadly deluded." On the other hand, Nick Smith of Rock Sound - Music with Attitude says that, "It shouldn't be long before Delirious? claim their rightful place as one of Britain's brightest new bands." What do the boys think about all this? Nobody knows for certain, but we do know that their aim is to stay humble and to praise God in everything that they do. Let us pray that they will continue to do so.
