See the Star, the new single from Delirious? is out. After giving my CDs a good listening-to I thought I would let you all know how good it is. Get ready to come with me on a ride into d:land!
See the Star Preview When I first heard "See the Star," I was surprised. I knew that the new d:sound was different but this blew me off my feet. Frankly, it was awesome. The title track is definitely the best song on the singles although some people think that "Follow" is better. As usual, the remixes are weird but I still like them. The second has the movie of "See the Star" on it and that is definitely the best part of the singles. I would buy them just for the movie. The ultimate question is this: Is the single worth the money? Answer: Yes!! Song-by-Song Review See the Star: This song is destined for the #1 position on the CCM charts and could possibly even be a crossover song and get played mainstream. With an edgy sound and awesome guitar parts courtesy of Stu G it is sure to be a hit with the young people of North America. Follow: "Follow" is another great song but I don't think it will be #1. Tim does his best here with his keyboards and it sounds phenomenal. Martin's vocals are close to what they were in "August 30th" and they don't quite match the job he does on "See the Star." See the Star (D:llatrix dub): The first of the remixes is much different than the original song. I think that this song is not really a remix but a re-recording. While the "d:llatrix dub" is OK, it isn't something that I would pick over other d:songs. Obsession (Odsession Mix): When I heard that Jon Thatcher did this remix I was quite happy. Since I love the bass, and Obsession relies on the bass heavily, I thought that it would have tons of bass. I was wrong. I don't think that this track has a single bit of bass in it but I surprised myself in deciding that I like it. This mix is more laid back and it uses lots of little effects that are hard to describe. They almost sound like computer-generated sounds but it is hard to say. See the Star Video: As I said above this is the best part of See the Star. This video is much different from "Deeper" because you actually see delirious? playing the whole song. There are little cuts of other people in between glimpses of the band and there are a lot of views of Martin singing. I hope that they put this out in North America. That would be pretty cool.
