Type "H.R. 77" in Search Box #3 ("Bill/Amendment No."), and you'll be provided with a rich bounty of information: bill summaries, descriptions of the bill's progress through committees, links to testimony regarding the bill, and an accounting of all cosponsors (those who have officially registered their support). Is your Representative a cosponsor or not? Is their action in accordance with your wishes?
- With this information in hand, it's your civic right (and some would say your obligation) to congratulate or castigate your Representative for their action or inaction. In the end, I can't tell you what to think about Emerson's proposed amendment or the issues surrounding it, but I'm glad to have let you know that the proposal exists, and to have provided some commentary. Unfortunately, most media outlets have ignored this legislation.
