Max Payne demo Max is a grizzled New York City cop. He’s been crossed and doubled crossed and now everyone is looking for him, the other cops and gangsters alike. Chances are you’ve heard about Max, maybe you’ve been living under a rock either way now is your chance to experience Max in all his glory in a 130 MB download. If you can’t handle the bandwidth wait for it to show up on a magazine disk soon you won’t be sorry. If your computer has the horses, Max is a marvelous looking game. There is simply no better-looking game in existence. I would recommend a 64-MB video card and a PIII computer with 128 MB of RAM! If you don’t have the horses you can scale it down a bit so that while it won’t look as good it will be more playable on your system. Max simply must be played to be believed. Never have the gritty streets of New York looked so well, gritty. The big selling point with Max is a lovely little feature called “ Bullet Time.” Bullet-time puts the game in slow motion while allowing you to aim in real-time. This might sound just like a pretty add-on with no significant merit but it’s so much more. Bullet-Time is actually necessary to progress in the game so you’ll need to learn how to pull it off without a second thought in order to pass certain levels. Max is loaded with story, albeit a 2nd film noir story. The story is driven forward via a graphic novel presentation. Max narrates and the entire thing is pulled off rather well in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way. If you have any interest at all in 3rd person shooters, no this not a 1st person Quake-type game it’s more along the lines of Lara Croft, or if you have any interest in action games this is a must download. In fact Max Payne is so good that now is a great time to upgrade your computer just so you can play Max. Go To Page: 1
