A Look at the Online Game " Acrophobia"Go Bezerk with Acrophobia Acronym definition: A word formed from the initial letters of a multi-word name Phobia definition: a general fear of something Acrophobia definition: fear of acronyms. Fun definition: Acrophobia You’d best have no fear of acronyms if you want to play this little gem of a game. Acrophobia is by Bezerk (www.bezerk.com) (which will bring you to the WON network in the Bezerk area), which is a part of Berkley Systems (www.berkleysytems.com). You know Berkley Systems as the wacky folks who brought flying toasters to your desktop. Well, they are doing for online gaming what they did for screen savers. Although this game has been around a while it is worth checking out if you have never before had the pleasure. Their online games are wacky, irreverent and just plain strange. But there are very few other places on the Internet that allow you to have so much fun and the price makes it an even better value. Sierras’ Won.net (www.won.net) hosts not only Acrophobia but a couple of other Bezerk games also, including the riotous and ludicrous You Don’t Know Jack – The Netshow, one of the few games, possibly the only game, that goes out of its way to insult players. Acrophobia, as with all the Bezerk games, is free, you can’t ask for more than that. Well, there is a price to be paid in terms of advertising, before you begin a game you have to sit through an obnoxious and somewhat annoying ad. It’s a small price to pay actually simply because of the fun to be had within the game. It sure beats shelling out a monthly fee! Although paying to play Acrophobia might well be a worthwhile investment. Shhh, don’t tell them I said that, free is good. The fact is this game is actually worth paying money for, unlike some of the games out there that actually do have a fee and are not a good investment. So get in here while the getting’s good! After a small download and a sign up procedure you can then pick a room to join. There are a large number of rooms: 20 something’s, 30 something’s, 40 something’s and others that have nothing to do with age. The particular room you choose really has nothing to do with gameplay at all. The idea is to simply provide enough areas for people to go into. Each room has a limited number of players it can handle, 14. You can also choose if you want to use adult language or not. This is pretty well moderated by other players, so if you choose a clean area and curse, you can be booted.
