Companies are gearing up for the holiday season in a big way

As we approach even closer to the holiday season, we'll see an onslaught of games entering the market, just for our greedy little fingers to pick up and play. Already the flood of games can be seen, more than a month before the Christmas season. Thanks to Computer Games Online, here is a partial list of titles just released to stores a week or two ago:

  • Steel Panthers III: Brigade Command 1939-1999 from SSI
It is the third installment of Gary Grigsby's successful wargame series.

  • CART Precision Racing from Microsoft
An officially licensed product of Championship Auto Racing Teams, Inc., and featuring 3D support and multiplayer capability, CART Precision Racing puts the player into the seat of Indy race cars.

  • The Curse of Monkey Island from Lucas Arts
The third installment of the Monkey Island series is finally out. Players must guide Guybrush Threepwood as he rescues Elain Marley from the evil zombie pirate LeChuck in this adventure game.

  • Blade Runner from Westwood
In this adventure games, based on the science-fiction movie of the same name, players take the role of a rookie agent on the hunt for replicants (artificial humans) in 2019 Los Angeles.

  • Longbow 2 from Jane's Combat Simulations
Longbow 2 is the sequel to last year's hit combat simulator, AH-64D Longbow.

These surefire hits are only a sample of what's to come. New online games are also being setup for network gamers. HEAT.NET has come to an agreement with several companies to add seven new games to its game network. They are Quake II, Hexen II, Total Annihilation, Postal, Warlords III: Reign of Heroes, Take No Prisoners and WarBreeds.

The games listed above, plus the games to come in the next month, guarantee this holiday season will be a jolly one for all computer gamers, whether giving or receiving.
