Computer Gaming News since January 15, 2000:
3DO to enter European Markets
For the European members of Suite101, you'll be glad to know that more computer games will be entering your market. 3DO shipped "Army Men 3D" for the Sony Playstation, and "Army Men in Space" for the PC to Europe. This is only the first step in 3DO's plans to conquer the European markets. Along with the "Army Men" pair, they will also be shipping "BattleTanx", "Crusaders of Might and Magic", and "Midnight in Vegas". 3DO will also market its upcoming "Player Manager" in Europe alone, depriving us in America of a quality soccer game. Golden Games
Microsoft, Fox Interactive and Talonsoft all have announced that they have games going gold. Microsoft's "Links LS 2000" add-on pack will feature 10 courses, including: Firestone and Castle Pines. The add-on is being developed by Access Software, who have made the "Links" series into a classic... Fox Interactive plans on releasing a gold version "Alien vs. Predator". The update would feature the Millennium add-on pack, a strategy guide, and an overall improved engine... Talonsoft announced the expansion pack "Hidden and Dangerous: Devil's Bridge" has gone gold. Probably available by the time you read this, it will include nine new missions, more vehicles, and deadlier weapons. Linux to get a boost
Take-Two Interactive announced it has released "100 Great Linux Games, Vol. 1" for the Linux operating system. Included in the bundle are classics such as "Pong" and "Chess". Hopefully this will motivate other developers to begin developing games for this fledgling OS. Take-Two also plans on releasing two additional games for Linux.
