Graphically the game isn't that amazing. As mentioned above, you see the cities from directly overhead. The camera zooms in and out occasionally to avoid running into large buildings which rise from the ground, an effect which can be somewhat annoying at times. The game supports high and low color VGA graphics, as well as 3DFX cards (which seems a bit overkill). It also supports net play over the Internet or via a network. Several "deathmatch" levels are included with the game.
Finally, while the game is fun, it sure is hard. The lack of a "save" feature while in the game is very, very annoying, considering many of the missions have multiple parts, most of which have very stringent time limits. Fail too many missions on a level and you'll be forced to start over. Overall, however, I found Grand Theft Auto to be a good game, and a great way to get out aggression. Obviously, this game is not for kids or crazed lunatics with access to vehicles or are near large cities. I mean, looking realistically at this game, you're doing some very bad things here: car jacking, drug smuggling, resisting arrest, killing people and killing cops, (not to mention speeding). However, I don't think the graphics are realistic enough to make people think it's reality. Go To Page: 1
