Summer is a time that a lot of families can go out and have fun. There are festivals, fairs, one-day trips and vacations. Documenting your family outings is something that a lot of people overlook. There are several ways you can personalize and document your memories besides photos.
Here are some tips that will personalize your memory making for years to come. 1. Journaling: On your computer you can make personalized journals. Choose a theme, such as your destination, sites that you see on your way to your destination or a combination of both. I'm sure there are many other ideas that you and your family can come up with. Make your journal cover to reflect this. Make a journal for each member of your family even the younger children and let them draw pictures of things they see. If you don't have a comb binder you can take the journals to an office supply store and get the books bound there. Most stores will let you do this for free if you purchase their combs or for a small fee. 2. Scrapbook: Collect small memento's along the way to put in a scrapbook. You can make the book on the computer, personalizing it for your trip. Some ideas for things to collect are: Brochures (found at attractions, visitor centers, and rest stops). You can save ticket stubs, purchase postcards, photos or anything else that will lay flat in your scrapbook. This makes for a fun family craft when you get home. You can cut out special pictures and titles from the brochures to decorate your pages. 3. Make personalized activity books. There are plenty of web sites that you can make custom puzzles, mazes and word games. You can also find coloring pages to keep the younger ones busy. Go To Page: 1
