3. When you want to use your dingbat navigate to your dingbat folder and find locate the dingbat you want to use. Double click on it and then minimize it so that it is sitting in your task bar. Then open your program of choice and scroll through your fonts and you will find your dingbat listed. As long as it remains open in the task bar it is available for you to use in your program(s). When you are finished just close the dingbat preview window. The dingbat wasn't installed, but Windows still recognized it as being available.
4. There are many font management programs available and you can do the same thing within your font managers. I personally use the above method, as it is easiest for me and my needs.
