Creating a Family Calendar Part 1Calendars are a great gift to give to family members. With careful planning and some research you can put together a great calendar that will be cherished long after the New Year has past. There are several ways that you can go about this. The instructions for this week's calendar will be for an 8 1/2x10 inch calendar bound at the top with a comb binder in landscape format. If you have a scanner, go through some photos that would be appropriate for each month. You can make a collage of favorite photos or pick out a different one for each month. Make sure you scan them in large enough so that when you enlarge them the quality will be good. Too small a scan can create a blurred image or less quality when you try to enlarge the photo. Scan a different photo for each month. I recommend saving these to different files so that you can find them easily. If you want to include birthdays, special events or notes, you need to go through the entire year adding these. You also might want to add small photos or clip-art for special days. Remember to save, save, save! When working in graphical programs resources may become low and funny things may start to happen. I've made this mistake before and wasn't happy that all my hard work poofed! After you've gotten this all together it is time to bind the calendar. Once again you can take this to an office supply store, printer or use your own binder. In part two, I will suggest some smaller gifts that you can include with your calendar that will make it extra special. It's never too late to get started! Enjoy, Anna
