Personalized JournalsOne of my favorite things to make is personalized journals. They make wonderful gifts for that special person in your life. I'm making one for my oldest daughter for Christmas and I know she'll enjoy it. Journals are easily made in a publishing or card-making program. I recommend the half card size. You can create a special cover and laminate it. I use clear contact paper, but you can use a laminator. Then I decorate writing pages with a small graphic or a basic border, keeping my theme in mind. You can also add questions, quotes or thought-provoking ideas to some of the pages. This is great for those that are just beginning to write journals or for those times that writing might need a boost. To bind this little book, you can check to see if your local office supply store has a comb-binder that you can use. Usually if you purchase the combs, they will do bind them for free or little cost. Also, you can punch three holes into the paper and use ribbon to tie the journal together. I also like to punch a hole in the cover and back page and insert ribbon so that the book can be tied shut.
