Here is an unique gift to give for Christmas, wedding or baby showers or any occasion.
First pick a theme. For this example we will use the Baby Shower Time Capsule. You can modify it to fit any occasion. Supplies needed: A can large enough to hold all the items. This can be a large coffee can, large round tin or an empty paint bucket that can be purchased at a hardware store. Large peice of sticker paper. This will be your label for the can. Your choice of items to include, for example a home-made baby book or a list of current events for the past year. An enveloped for a lock of hair, a "Tooth Fairy" bag, a home-made Mother's Journal, several scrapbook pages designed in your favorit computer crafting program, a growth chart, or anything else that may personalize your gift further. All of the above items can be made in computer crafting programs and personalized to fit the theme of the shower or new babies room. The hardest part of this will be making the label for your Time Capsule. I find it easiest to use a program that has rulers or an option to set size dementions. Design and print out. Then carefully place around the container. You can also print up matching stickers to place on the container to give a more customized look. Place all of the goodies into the can and decorate with curly ribbon, a balloon or a big fancy bow. You can also decorate with some simple baby items such as first toys, little booties or any thing else that you may find. In the following weeks I'm going to be picking a craft that can be made on the computer and giving instructions on how I make it. There are so many variations that anything is possible!
