Graphic Formats Part 2

PNG: Catching on for printing and using in programs because the PNG format supports no backgrounds and doesn't loose quality when resizing. Scrapbookers are using this format more for computer scrapbooking.

Vector graphics are mathematical based graphics that don't distort when resized in programs.
WMF: Window's Meta File used mostly as clip-art. You will find this format used in Word and other Office programs. This format is Microsoft Window's main format for graphics.
CGI: An older vector graphic format.

It is important to remember that raster graphics are made of little squares or pixels that contain the image file data. You can't make a raster graphic larger as it will loose quality and become pixilated, where you can see each pixel or square. When creating a graphic or saving a photo, save it larger than needed as it is easier to make the graphic smaller without loosing quality. You can't increase the raster graphic due to the loss of quality.
